I've just finished another variation (and certainly the last for a good long while) to the visual design of this website of mine. It offers a small, but ever-so-important change to the prior one, which was basically the same as this encompassing a drop down navigation panel and narrow design, etc. but with one rather notable difference. I am of course talking about the stunning sea view photograph and semi-transparent content box which overlays it. I must admit to being completely taken when I saw this photo by the Australian artist Chris Potter, and I thank my new best friend Pascal for pointing me in the right direction to find it. The truth is for years I've always been a pretty minimalist designer. I like my white space and I love designs with simple, clean edges. I feel that, by looking from a slightly different angle than one perhaps normally would, I've kept this style going throughout the new incarnation of my blog, which I designed for the CSS Reboot, but sadly missed due to all the other bull that I'm having to turf my way though in recent weeks. I am chuffed with it anyway, but the big question - what do you think? Do tell!

Good choice. The picture blends very nicely with your site.

Works well. The only criticism I'd have is the tiled background - the image repeats on either side at the size I have my browser window. Love the transparent edges on the main column though.

Id actually completely forgotten that the background was tiled. The command was from the old layout and I just forgot to remove it - well spotted! Still, you must have a pretty high resolution on your computer to see the image tiling. It's 1200px wide.

Ahh, that's better. Tiled backgrounds and the curse of the Cinema Display running at a silly resolution? That's something I can live with :-)
